LL-J has been established in London since 1987, moving to its Cheapside office in the City in February 1990. The office's client base includes the top 350 law firms in the City and West End as well thousands of small, medium sized and niche practices in London, the South and the Home Counties.

It is the base for our renowned in-house legal recruitment service, managed by Lucy Boyd and widely regarded as the most comprehensive and effective in the country.  From here, we cover vacancies throughout, inter alia, the financial, manufacturing, construction & engineering, commercial, high-tech, regulatory and industrial sectors.

Overseas vacancies in Europe, the Far East and North America are also handled from the London office.

Marian Lloyd-Jones, Managing Director, BA (Hons) - A Manchester University graduate, Marian co-founded LL-J with Simon Lipson in 1987. Marian is widely recognised as one of the most respected and effective legal recruitment consultants in the country. She handles vacancies across all sectors of private practice and the in-house market, and is noted for her expertise in senior level recruitment.

Lucy Boyd, Director, Barrister, Dip Law - Lucy joined LL-J in 1987. She established and developed LL-J's in-house recruitment and has a track record in successfully managing dedicated recruitment campaigns for clients in the commercial, financial, technology, regulatory, energy and manufacturing sectors. Lucy is renowned for her market knowledge, and is able to advise both candidates and clients on market trends, recruitment strategy, remuneration, career advice and marketing. Lucy also places lawyers in private practice and has experience of recruitment from NQ to partner level.

Jane Fry BA (Hons), Senior Consultant - Jane trained at Wragge & Co and did commercial/IP work there after qualifying in 1997. She then worked in-house for two media companies in London and joined LL-J in January 2002. Jane has specialised in professional support recruitment since 2004.

Jon Cowdry BA (Hons), Senior Consultant - Jon handles LL-J's Legal Executive portfolio. He has worked closely with ILEX for a number of years having previously worked for a leading North West recruitment company. Jon joined LL-J in May 2002 having run his own recruitment business. He now deals with legal executives, solicitors and non-solicitor fee earners in private practice and in-house.

Lisa Rose LLB (Hons), Senior Consultant - Lisa qualified and practised as a barrister before joining LL-J in July 2002. She handles recruitment at all levels both in private practice and in-house, concentrating on the London market (US and City firms) as well as regionally in East Anglia. Lisa also specialises in placing barristers into private practice, one of the UK's only consultants to offer this specialist service. Languages: French.

Piers Westoby, Senior Consultant - Piers joined LL-J in January 2006 having previously worked for eight years at a leading regional legal recruitment consultancy. Piers handles recruitment at all levels both in private practice and in-house.

Shelley Carr BA (Hons), Senior Consultant - Shelley joined Lipson Lloyd-Jones in 2001 handling private practice and in-house recruitment at all levels. Since 2003 she has specialised in professional support recruitment.
